Welcome to Stavanger Offshore Technical College

Stavanger Offshore Technical College (SOTS) is a publicly maintained leading educational facility in upper-secondary and technical college studies. The College has an annual student body of about 500 students at further education level, employs a highly qualified teaching staff, and has state-of-the-art equipment and modern facilities to meet the educational needs of students. The main objective of the College is to be at the forefront in providing education in offshore drilling. Other main departments are:

The SOTS Course Centre is an independent division of the Stavanger Offshore Technical College, which obtains funds from commercial operations. The Course Centre specialises in providing high professional services, skilled training and education in the oil and gas industry both onshore and offshore, nationally and internationally. The Course Centre also has its own Safety Centre with modern facilities in fire-fighting, sea-rescue and helicopter evacuation. Specialised areas of training and education are:

  • Oil and gas drilling and well service
  • Oil and gas process and production
  • Hydraulics
  • Mechanics and welding
  • Safety and crisis management
  • Crane/Lifting
  • Management courses for offshore personnel

Both the College and the Centre cooperate closely with the oil, gas and safety industries, private companies and public organisations, using the resources to ensure the delivery of professional services of the highest standards. Examples from our list of customers:
Seadrill, Statoil, Aker Solutions, ConnocoPhillips, Transocean, Dolphin, Songa Drilling, COSL, Odfjell Drilling.

We also collaborate with the Rogaland Training & Education Centre on a project-by-project basis.
